Qualifications

• Customer service oriented and knowledgeable of items in hardware department.
• Ability to advise customers on tools, hardware and materials needed to complete tasks.
• Adheres to pre-established guidelines and follows supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities

• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Handle customer phone orders or custom requests with courtesy and professionalism.
• Resolve customer complaints and guide them with information or involve management when necessary.
• Greet customers and answer inquiries regarding Hardware Parts and/or merchandise.
• Inform customers about tool quality and demonstrate product use when necessary.
• Discuss features and uses of hardware items and substitutions when needed.
• Estimate items like paint, siding, roofing materials, etc.
• Research merchandise availability using computer database.
• Display, clean, and organize merchandise; stock shelves and displays.
• Process merchandise warranty information at purchase.
• Wrap or bag merchandise for customers and prepare sales slips.
