Job summary

T & M Hardware & Rental in New Castle, PA is seeking a friendly sales associate to deliver outstanding customer service on the floor and over the phone. You will help customers find merchandise, process purchases, and keep the store clean and inviting.

You will learn product details across departments, participate in promotions, assist with special orders, and support team members. The role requires a flexible schedule, teamwork, and a proactive approach to helping customers.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service skills and a professional attitude.
• A working knowledge of the products contained in the store with a willingness to continue to learn.
• Organized, self-starter who thinks independently and solves problems.
• Knowledge of effective sales methods and techniques.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems to assist with price lookup, special orders, and order entry. MS Word and PowerPoint are used.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in person and on the phone, answering questions, helping them find merchandise, and suggesting add-on sales.
• Create an inviting environment by maintaining a clean and orderly sales floor.
• Notify customers of upcoming promotions and new products.
• Assist with loading products into customers’ vehicles as needed.
• Merchandise products according to planograms and maintain signage.
• Restock shelves and assist in regular inventory tasks.
• Face and front products at shifts start and end, and as time permits.
• Help store staff with other tasks as needed.
• Be vigilant to identify shoplifters and respond per store policy.
• Attend all staff meetings and adhere to store policies and safety standards.
• Cut keys for customers.
