Job summary

T & M Hardware & Rental is seeking a sales associate in a customer-focused role in Pittsburgh. You will assist customers on the floor and over the phone, help with add-on sales, and maintain a clean store environment to reflect our values.

You will learn about products, perform routine tasks, and support promotions while working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Team collaboration is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service skills and a professional attitude.
• A working knowledge of the products contained in the store with a willingness to continue to learn.
• Organized, self-starter who thinks independently and solves problems.
• Knowledge of effective sales methods and techniques.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems to assist with price lookup and orders. Familiarity with MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong math, reading, writing and communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in person and on the phone, answering questions, and suggesting add-on sales.
• Create an inviting environment by maintaining a clean and orderly sales floor.
• Notify customers of upcoming promotions and new products.
• Assist with loading products into customers' vehicles as needed.
• Merchandise products according to planograms and maintain signage.
• Restock shelves and take regular inventory of stock.
• Face and front products at start and end of shift and during the day.
• Help store staff with other tasks and identify shoplifters per store policy.
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to store policies and safety standards.
• Be able to cut keys for customers.
