Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Development Test Specialist, Hardware Reliability to support Starlink production reliability efforts. You will design and build fixtures, test stands, and procedures to enable rigorous reliability investigations across high-volume manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on technical problem solving, ability to read schematics, fabricate test hardware, and collaborate with engineers to prevent future failures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years hands-on technical experience in quality or reliability.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, physics, statistics, or related field.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics.
• Experience with instrumentation (strain gauges, transducers, load cells, RTDs, accelerometers).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform tests independently or with engineers.
• Summarize and distribute test data and results.
• Communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.
• Develop and document test procedures.
• Independently fabricate test fixtures and setups.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Support anomaly investigations and test plans.
