Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support complex hardware development programs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role sits onsite in RTP, NC and will support Program Managers across cable backplane systems production test and signal integrity initiatives.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor scope, timelines and costs, and help drive readiness for production using DFM principles. Travel up to 50-60% is required as projects evolve.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in project coordination or management within a manufacturing, hardware, or mechanical environment.
• Ability to communicate across technical teams and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to travel 50-60% initially.
• Experience working in fast-paced, unstructured, high-pressure settings.
• PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, budgeting, and execution of complex new product development projects in a high-change environment.
• Act as a communication bridge between internal teams and Program Managers to ensure alignment on schedules, deliverables, and priorities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to keep programs on track.
• Monitor project scope, timelines, and financials while escalating risks, resource gaps, and delays.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and support readiness for production, capacity planning, and system setup.
