Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Hardware Test Specialist, Failure Analysis (Gateway) in Redmond, WA to ensure reliability of Starlink hardware. You will analyze hardware failures, work with cross-functional teams, and support test system operations across production and field environments.

The role involves environmental testing, root-cause analysis, and improvement of test assets. Strong knowledge of electronics, schematics, and measurement tools is required, with willingness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; 1+ years in hands-on technical role or a bachelor’s in engineering.
• Experience with electronic testing and inspection using measurement devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
• Strong understanding of technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform first level troubleshooting of test system errors from logs and telemetry.
• Support production, engineering, and qualification tests including setup and troubleshooting.
• Conduct failure analysis on PCBA and other hardware to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Design or repair fixtures, tooling, and shop aids to improve manufacturing processes.
• Monitor yield rates and drive corrective actions for non-conforming products.
