Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA seeks a Hardware Test Specialist for Starlink to identify, analyze, and resolve hardware failures in satellites and ground stations, improving reliability of PCBA assemblies.

The role collaborates with electrical, mechanical, software, and supply chain teams, performing environmental testing, root-cause analysis, fixture design, and process improvements to enhance yield and robustness.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of hands-on technical experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Responsibilities

• First level troubleshooting of test system errors from logs and telemetry.
• Support production, engineering, and qualification tests including setup and troubleshooting.
• Uncover root causes of failures and implement permanent solutions (software/hardware).
• Introduce new configurations into production.
• Design or repair fixtures and tools to improve manufacturing.
• Identify design/process improvements to yield and cost.
• Perform detailed failure analysis on PCBA and electronics components.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve reliability.
