Job summary

Allegion in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Summer Intern for Hardware Engineering within the Product Lifecycle Engineering team. You will participate in evaluating design performance, troubleshoot, test data, and learn electronics test equipment.

Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in electrical/electronics engineering with a 3.0 GPA, and sophomore status by internship start. Prior internship or circuit design interest is a plus, and you will work under supervision on

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering or electronics engineering technology.
• Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program.
• Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale.
• Familiarity with electronics test equipment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. club officer, team captain, resident advisor, etc.).
• Self-motivated problem solver operating with limited supervision to help achieve goals for a global team.
• Experience with circuit design projects, circuit fault finding or previous internship experience preferred.
• Experience in IoT, Python, C, Altium Designer, Spice, LabWorks, Creo Parametric (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in evaluating engineering design performance of field returns.
• Help troubleshoot products using Structured Troubleshooting techniques.
• Help in testing and analyzing test data to assess performance using A3 problem solving and 8D processes.
• Learn and apply best practices in use of electronics test equipment, i.e., DMM, Oscilloscope.
• Participates in design reviews, as assigned.
• Provides written input for project reports, focusing on assigned tasks.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Works under the immediate supervision of more experienced engineers.
• Receives direct assistance on difficult tasks.
