Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Summer Intern – Mechanical Engineer at the Hague Road Technical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. You will contribute to mechanical design, analysis, and development of components and assemblies, collaborating with engineers to ensure proper processes, tooling, and manufacturing readiness.

You’ll gain exposure to electronic locking systems and access control while participating in peer design reviews.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative in school or work projects.
• Basic electronics understanding.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models for components and assemblies.
• Use engineering tools such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, and tolerance stack analysis.
• Conduct mechanical testing and analyze results.
• Use Creo, MS Project, and tolerance stack templates in product development.
• Collaborate with a team to create well-rounded solutions.
• Participate in daily and project team meetings.
• Lay a foundation for growth and future opportunities within Allegion.
