Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Summer Intern - Hardware Engineering for our Indianapolis, IN location. You’ll join the engineering team to work on sensors, IoT, PCB design, and prototype testing across product development cycles.

Gain hands-on experience through prototyping, data analysis, and design reviews under senior guidance, with opportunities to contribute to real-world projects that impact security solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrated leadership and initiative (clubs, teams, projects).
• Organized, team player with good communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-motivated problem solver with ability to multitask under supervision.
• Experience with circuit design projects or internships preferred.
• Experience in Python, C, Altium Designer, Spice, Labworks; IoT/SolidWorks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in the engineering design process.
• Help design and evaluate sensors and IoT technologies for new products.
• Build and test prototypes; analyze test data for performance.
• Learn and apply PCB design and layout best practices.
• Participate in design reviews and document input for reports.
• Work under supervision to support project objectives.
