Job summary

Allegion, Indianapolis, IN, is offering a Summer Intern position in Hardware Engineering within the Product Lifecycle Engineering team. The role focuses on evaluating design performance, troubleshooting, and analyzing test data to improve electronics products.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in EE or EET, with a 3.0 GPA, familiarity with electronics test equipment, and demonstrated leadership. Experience with IoT, Python, C, and related design tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or electronics engineering technology.
• Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program for undergraduate candidates.
• Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale)
• Familiarity with electronics test equipment
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership on school/work projects).
• Candidate must be a self‑motivated problem solver operating with limited supervision to help achieve goals for a global team
• Experience with circuit design projects, circuit fault finding or previous internship experience is preferred.
• Experience in IoT, Python, C, Altium Designer (or similar), Spice, LabWorks (or Similar), Creo Parametric (or similar). (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in evaluating engineering design performance of field returns.
• Help troubleshoot products using Structured Troubleshooting techniques.
• Help in testing and analyzing test data to assess performance using A3 problem solving and 8D processes.
• Learn and apply best practices in use of electronics test equipment, ie DMM, Oscilloscope.
• Participates in design reviews, as assigned
• Provides written input for project reports, focusing on assigned tasks
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
