Job summary

UNICOM Engineering is seeking a Hardware Engineer II in Plano, TX to architect, integrate, validate, and qualify enterprise server platforms and advanced cooling technologies. You will lead system bring-up, hardware/firmware validation, and cross-functional programs across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.

The role requires deep expertise in enterprise server architectures, OS, firmware, data center tech, and advanced thermal solutions, with strong leadership and automation skills to

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• RHCSA/RHCE/Linux+ or equivalent Linux certifications.
• CompTIA A+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Experience designing and validating advanced thermal management solutions.
• Experience with enterprise/server platforms and data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead configuration, integration, validation, and troubleshooting of enterprise server platforms including firmware, BIOS, BMC, Windows/Linux OS.
• Design, develop, and validate advanced thermal management solutions (air/liquid/immersion cooling).
• Lead hardware integration, prototype development, and engineering changes.
• Define validation strategies, qualification plans, and reliability assessments.
• Develop automation tools and data collection frameworks for validation.
