Job summary

UNICOM Engineering in Plano, TX is seeking a hands-on Lab Technician to support engineering development and product readiness through server provisioning, hardware assembly, testing, and validation. You will maintain lab environments and assist with thermal testing and cooling technologies.

The role requires 3+ years in hardware support, familiarity with enterprise server architectures, and CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field with relevant work experience.
• CompTIA A+ certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 3+ years supporting hardware development, validation, testing, or datacenter/server platforms.
• Experience in engineering labs/R&D environments and familiarity with enterprise server architectures.

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and maintain enterprise server platforms (Windows/Linux).
• Set up and maintain engineering laboratories, test benches, and supplies.
• Prepare and deploy server platforms for various cooling test environments.
• Assist with installation of TIMs, thermal pads, and cooling hardware.
• Assemble, upgrade, and rework hardware, including soldering and connector termination.
• Calibrate laboratory instrumentation and assist with product validation testing.
• Collect, document, and communicate test data and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and company policies.
