Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Engineer for an onsite role in Melbourne, Florida. You will design and maintain computer hardware components for avionics systems, review obsolete parts, and lead PCB layout guidance.

The role requires STEM education with 2+ years of relevant experience, strong problem-solving, and hands-on lab troubleshooting in RF/analog/digital design. Office onsite collaboration is emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Must be U.S. Person - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and analyzing analog and RF circuits using schematic capture tools and performance simulation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain awareness of obsolete parts on assigned products. Provide appropriate resolution to obsolete parts.
  • Design and analyze analog and RF circuits using schematic capture tools and performance simulation tools.
  • Characterize analog and RF signals using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Design and analyze digital circuits including computer hardware components (processors, memory, interfaces) and performance characteristics.
  • Provide supervision and technical guidance for PCB layout.
  • Perform hands‑on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.
  • Perform validation and verification activities to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Contribute to engineering estimates for limited to moderate scope of electrical design problems.
  • Review LRU defects trends, root causes and drive process improvements.
