Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – FPGA in Melbourne, FL to join our Avionics team. You will work across product lifecycles on ASIC/FPGA/SoPC development, collaborating with engineering, program management and customers to meet stringent DO-254 requirements.

You will write RTL/test benches, create timing constraints, run simulations, and participate in audits and reviews. Onsite role with competitive benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Experience RTL and test benches with VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.
• Proficiency with FPGA tools such as Questasim, Vivado, Libero, Synplify Pro.
• Experience with data interfaces (PCIe, DDR, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC-429).
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python and/or Perl.
• U.S. Person status required for ITAR-related information access.

Responsibilities

• Requirements capture, decomposition, and traceability.
• ASIC/FPGA/MPSoC digital architecture development and design.
• Develop RTL design code and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
• Create verification testbench using VHDL or UVM in SystemVerilog.
• Create placement and timing constraints.
• Perform synthesis, place and route.
• Perform static timing analysis, linting, LEC, and clock-domain-crossing analysis.
• DO-254 DAL‑A/B/C artifacts for AEH.
• Peer reviews throughout product lifecycle.
• Participate in FAA SOI audits.
• Create engineering bids and support RFIs and RFPs.
• Communicate with engineering, program management, leadership and customers.
• Suggest tools and practices to improve ASIC/FPGA design flow.
• Provide guidance or mentor other engineers.
• Travel up to 10%.
