OpenAI is seeking an Accounting Lead, Hardware in San Francisco to build and scale inventory accounting for hardware and robotics programs. You will partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, and Systems to create scalable processes and reporting infrastructure that supports rapid growth and product launches.

The role requires strong accounting judgment, experience with cost accounting and inventory, and the ability to translate complex operations into clear controls.

Formación

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of complex areas.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to research unfamiliar topics.
• Ability to learn new business models and take ownership of new areas.
• Experience building or improving accounting processes, reconciliations, controls, and reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial data.

Responsabilidades

• Lead inventory and supply chain accounting across hardware programs and close processes.
• Develop scalable accounting processes for prototyping, engineering builds, and mass production.
• Own inventory policies, controls, and cost accounting, including overhead and LCNRV/NRV.
• Lead cost accounting close activities and improve reconciliations and reporting.
