Job summary

OpenAI Finance seeks an Accounting Lead, Hardware to build scalable inventory accounting for consumer hardware and robotics programs. You will partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, and IT to implement scalable processes and reporting infrastructure supporting rapid product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of complex areas.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to research unfamiliar topics.
• Ability to learn new business models, systems, and processes quickly.
• Experience building or improving accounting processes, reconciliations, controls, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead inventory and supply chain accounting across hardware programs, including valuation, variances, reserves, and close processes.
• Design scalable finance processes and ERP design improvements for product costing and inventory transactions.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and improve reconciliations and reporting.
