OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a strategic Accounting Lead, Hardware to build and scale inventory accounting capabilities across consumer hardware and robotics programs.

You will partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Technical Accounting, Strategic Finance, and Systems teams to establish scalable inventory and supply chain accounting processes and reporting infrastructure supporting rapid growth and product launches.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of complex areas.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to research new topics.
• Ability to learn new business models and take ownership of unfamiliar areas.
• Experience building or improving accounting processes, reconciliations, controls, and reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial data.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Responsabilidades

• Inventory and supply chain accounting across hardware programs, including valuations, reserves, and close processes.
• Support BOM accuracy, labor/overhead assumptions, and gross margin analysis with cross‑functional partners.
• Develop scalable processes for prototyping, engineering builds, and mass production.
• Own inventory accounting policies, controls, capitalization, and LCNRV/NRV assessments.
• Serve as finance lead for Oracle Fusion costing and inventory implementations and process optimization.
• Design scalable finance processes, controls, reporting structures, and workflows with Systems/IT.
• Lead cost accounting close activities and improve reconciliations and management reporting.
• Establish SOX-ready controls and drive continuous improvement across close and reporting.
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Program Management as a strategic advisor.
