Job summary

Watco in Houston (14035 Industrial Road) is seeking a Harbor Crane / Crawler Crane Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain cranes and container handling equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. The role requires working at heights, reading schematics, and performing preventive maintenance with safety as a priority.

You will operate cranes, complete work orders in the CMMS, train junior technicians, and support overtime or on-call shifts as needed; high attention

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of crane experience required.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and complete tasks on time.
• Proficient in English with basic math skills.
• Physically able to bend, stoop, climb, twist, and lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains mobile and crawler crane equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Performs routine maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment.
• Operates cranes and aerial equipment at heights to evaluate and verify repairs.
• Reads and interprets manuals, blueprints, and schematics to prepare and execute work.
• Completes required work reports accurately.
• Maintains and cares for tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
• Provides training or mentorship to other technicians and supports continuous learning.
• Accesses and closes work orders using the maintenance management system.
• Adheres to safety protocols and ensures a clean, orderly work environment.
• Works flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed.
