Job summary

Watco in Houston is seeking a Waterfront Crane Operator to move customer product from the port and through the terminal, operating crawler or mobile harbor cranes and performing deck-hand duties as needed.

This mid-level, hourly role requires 12-hour shifts with day or night availability and possible weekend work. Watco emphasizes safety, with training at the Safe Performance Center and ongoing team development.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outside most of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends when necessary.
• Follow company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Understand Watco Safety Principles and Foundation Principles.
• Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the crane to move cargo within the terminal and between barges, rails, trucks, or storage.
• Assist with deck hand duties such as docking, lines handling, and securing equipment.
• Complete general labor and maintenance around the terminal.
• Participate in safety briefs and training to ensure task understanding and risk awareness.
