Job summary

Watco is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Houston, TX. The role focuses on keeping equipment operating at peak performance with minimal downtime, including installation, repair and routine servicing of machinery at Greens Port Industrial Park.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in mechanics, conveyor systems, welding and fabrication, plus the ability to troubleshoot. High school diploma or GED and TWIC/work authorization are required; 5+ years in industrial maintenance

Qualifications

• Requires ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Extensive experience in mechanics, conveyor systems, pneumatics, welding and metal fabrication; ability to troubleshoot preferred.
• Minimum 5 years advanced-level maintenance experience in industrial settings preferred.

Job Summary

Schedule: Operations run 24/7. This position works Monday through Sunday with both day and night schedules.
Location: 14035 Industrial Rd., Houston, TX 77015

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will be the responsible for ensuring equipment operations remain at peak performance, with minimal downtime. You will support and maintain responsibility for the efficient installation, repair, and servicing of the equipment that you will be operating on a day-to-day. This role will require the ability to maintain regular communication with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work in an environment that prioritizes safety and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate primarily heavy equipment including but not limited to conveyors, scraper systems, wheel loaders, motor graders and other similar mechanical and industrial machinery
• Apply expert-level knowledge of mechanical work, welding and metal fabrication, and other industrial fields to service and repair equipment
• Follow and apply safety standards prioritizing quality and efficiency while working well independently or with others and demonstrating a sense of urgency and purpose
• Communicate mechanical issues and complex maintenance issues to team members, management and other required and relevant internal stakeholders as needed, in a timely manner
• Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and analyze technical problems effectively
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies; report potential safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and inventory
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Extensive experience and expert proficiency in mechanics, conveyor systems, pneumatics, welding and metal fabrication, and commercial building maintenance and conveyor systems including the ability to troubleshoot preferred
• Minimum 5 years advanced-level experience in breakdown industrial and production maintenance preferred
