Job summary

The City of Claremont NH is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined leader to serve as Superintendent of Parks & Facility Operations. You will oversee parks, athletic facilities, Community Center, and aquatic facilities, with training provided for aquatics.

Responsibilities include leading 5–15 staff, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating projects. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in operations with supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facility management, recreation, or related field.
• 3–5 years parks/facilities operations experience with supervisory role.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach to maintenance.
• Proficiency with computers and facility management software.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and project oversight.
• Willingness to learn aquatic operations.

Responsibilities

• Keep parks, trails, fields, and facilities in top shape through planning and preventive maintenance.
• Lead a team of 5–15 staff plus seasonal workers.
• Oversee projects from turf management to building systems and events.
• Support Community Center and aquatic facilities operations.
• Coordinate repairs and vendor services and manage software for operations.
• Collaborate with community partners and assist with department planning and budgeting.
