Job summary

Consolidated Municipality of Carson City is seeking a Park Maintenance Supervisor to lead a crew of maintenance workers and seasonal staff, planning and reviewing work to ensure safe, efficient operation of sports facilities and recreation areas.

Under general supervision, you will perform semi-skilled maintenance, irrigation system work, pesticide application as needed, and basic repairs while upholding safety standards and coordinating with public users and staff.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to High School graduation or GED; AND three (3) years of landscaping maintenance or sports field management experience.
• Valid Driver's License; A Valid Class A CDL may be required to be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• OSHA 30 Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides lead direction, training and work review to a work crew; organizes and assigns work and ensures completion.
• Instructs inmates or unskilled workers in proper work procedures and safety.
• Construct, repair and replace park structures and equipment.
• Installs and maintains irrigation systems; reads plans and prepares sketches.
• Inspects areas for safety hazards and maintains park grounds and facilities.
• Operates a variety of hand and power landscaping tools and equipment; maintains safety at work sites.
• Maintains records of work performed and attendance; works as part of a team.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Three (3) years landscaping maintenance or sports field management experience

OSHA 30 Certification

Valid Driver's License

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required within 12 months
