Job summary

The City of Farmington seeks a seasoned Senior Superintendent to lead Park Operations in the Parks & Recreation Department. You will oversee maintenance, grounds, athletic fields, facilities, and equipment, reporting to the Deputy Director and guiding budgets, staffing, and planning.

Responsibilities include establishing maintenance standards, managing contracts and grants, and coordinating capital projects to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality park services for the community.

Qualifications

• This position requires a strong background in park operations, budgeting, and leadership within a municipal setting.
• Experience supervising staff, managing contracts, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Park Operations including maintenance, facilities, and grounds.
• Develop budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage external contracts.
• Supervise seasonal, temporary, and regular staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Coordinate capital improvement projects and grant applications as needed.
• Ensure safety, compliance with regulations, and high service quality.
