Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours.
• Completion of ITEC 2320 – Networking Essentials with at least a B and a letter of recommendation from the instructor for the course.
• Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
• Student is required to retain Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networking equipment, including routers, switches, wireless devices, cabling, and related hardware.
• Support faculty in preparing the networking lab for instructional activities, demonstrations, and student projects.
• Maintain the organization, inventory, and documentation of networking lab equipment and supplies.
• Perform basic hardware and software updates on lab systems as directed.
• Help identify, diagnose, and resolve routine network and workstation issues.
• Assist with equipment deployment, testing, and recovery following laboratory exercises.
• Ensure the networking lab remains clean, organized, and compliant with department policies and safety procedures.
• Provide basic technical assistance to students using lab resources.
• Complete other technology-related tasks and projects as assigned by faculty or department staff.
