Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions, a state-of-the-art producer of architectural wood doors in Manitowoc, WI, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to tackle hands-on manufacturing challenges. You will partner with Production, CI, Maintenance and Engineering to drive improvements, sustain gains, and support daily operations on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• 3+ years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an assembly operation, preferably wood products.
• Self-starter who can work independently and, on a team.
• Prior project management experience, start to finish, is highly desirable.
• Prior capital project experience is also helpful.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Solve hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day performance while collaborating with Production, CI, Maintenance and Engineering.
• Apply process improvement skills to meet KPIs and drive measurable gains.
• Develop practical solutions and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained through change management.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work with operators, supervisors and leadership to resolve issues.
• Serve as escalation resource for complex process analysis after initial Production or Maintenance response.
• Plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• Improve processes and eliminate waste in key constraint areas; enhance safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
• Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams.
