Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech II to join our Stratford, CT team. You will repair, maintain, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment in a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime.

On-the-job training is provided, with emphasis on PLCs, boilers and CMMS usage to keep facilities running safely and efficiently. You’ll work in a collaborative team in a growing organization that values engineering excellence and career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Minimum 1 year in repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Able to read blueprints and maintenance literature in English.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems using observation and precision tools.
• Assist maintenance team with repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Repair PLCs and control systems per schematics.
• Follow manuals, engineering specs, and blueprints.
• Test boiler pre-treatment systems and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Perform safety checks on boilers and follow procedures.
• Inspect and lubricate shafts, belts, gears and other parts.
• Use CMMS to track work orders and close tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
