Job summary

Epic Asset Management in Washington, DC is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to support the Maintenance Supervisor in overseeing day-to-day maintenance and repair operations across the property. You will perform hands-on tasks and direct maintenance staff to ensure facilities, equipment, and grounds are well maintained and residents receive excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience in residential or commercial settings.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with property management software for work orders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting facilities and equipment to determine maintenance needs and staffing.
• Assign and oversee maintenance tasks including repairs, renovations, and cleaning.
• Obtain bids from outside contractors and supervise contracted maintenance work when needed.
• Purchase building maintenance supplies in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain common areas and ensure daily cleaning and upkeep.
• Manage daily garbage removal across the property and amenities.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical work, and repairs.
• Complete and document resident work orders in the property management system.
• Notify management of major repairs or system upgrades.
• Maintain exterior community areas ensuring cleanliness, safety, and proper lighting.
• Follow safety guidelines and company policies.
• Supervise maintenance staff in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
