Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. in Durham, NC is hiring a Service Maintenance Manager to lead the on-site maintenance team, oversee routine and preventive work, and ensure high-quality living environments for residents. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring five in-office days per week.

You will train staff, manage budgets, coordinate with vendors, and prepare for inspections while fostering a safe, collaborative work culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of multi-family operational management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision to maintenance team and vendors.
• Manage routine and preventive maintenance and unit turns with timely scheduling and quality checks.
• Provide training to staff to ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Oversee cleaning, painting, landscaping, and general repairs.
• Prepare for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Assist in budget planning and vendor contract management.
