Job summary

The Community Builders Inc. is seeking a Service Maintenance Manager to lead the community’s maintenance team, oversee repairs, and ensure market-ready homes and a quality living environment for residents.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong operations experience, budgeting, vendor management, safety compliance, and proficiency with Yardi and MS Office; five days in the office weekly at Chicago-area properties.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in multi-family operations management.
• Experience training and managing budgets and vendors.
• Proficient with Yardi and MS Office.
• Industry certifications required (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC).
• Willing to obtain site-specific certifications within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance team and vendors to complete work orders.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and unit turns timely.
• Train staff and ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Prepare for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Manage capital improvements and vendor contracts.
