Job summary

CW Resources is seeking an experienced Janitorial Project Manager to oversee daily custodial operations at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy site in New London, CT. You will lead a hands-on team, train staff, and ensure safety, cleanliness, and presentation across facilities.

You will perform on-floor tasks, handle scheduling, and coordinate basic reporting while maintaining a minimal desk presence on site. A strong cleaning background and OSHA safety knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical certificate.
• 3–4 years of janitorial or facilities management experience.
• 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
• Experience managing multi-site janitorial operations.
• Strong understanding of commercial cleaning techniques, equipment and chemicals.
• Proficiency with health and safety regulations related to cleaning (OSHA).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Teams, Outlook, Excel).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid Real ID.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom sanitation and floor-care.
• Lead by example; train, coach and support custodial staff on shifts.
• Complete admin duties like timesheets, basic reports and staff scheduling.
• Conduct regular walkthrough inspections and correct deficiencies.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor supplies, track inventory and assist with ordering materials.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and PPE requirements to ensure safety.
• Respond promptly to spills, urgent cleaning needs and after-hours calls.
