Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Janitorial Manager to oversee custodial and related services within assigned contracts. The role reports to the Director of Operations and requires strong supervision and scheduling abilities.

The position emphasizes hands-on management, coordination with client management, and ensuring quality standards across facilities with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and planning skills, responsiveness, attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
• Minimum of five to ten years of recent experience in working supervision of custodial and related employees performing cleaning functions in major facilities.
• Working hours mostly weekdays but may also include evenings and weekends as well as on-call for emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Properly allocate work responsibilities among subordinates. Supervises and coordinates the work activities of assigned areas (includes common areas, Service hallways, Food court, etc.).
• Creates schedules to maintain properly skilled staffing levels to satisfy those schedules. Approves vacation time, overtime and timecards.
• Ability to train custodians on work-related equipment.
• Supervises, motivates, disciplines, and evaluates staff.
• Counsel and coordinate with customer management representatives on all matters relating to services performed.
• Resolves clients’ concerns and performs inspections for satisfactory job performance.
• Meet periodically with subordinates to review status of facility services and institute corrective measures for deficiencies. Monitors supply use inventory.
• Ensures all equipment is in proper working condition. Provides hands-on cleaning if required.
