Job summary

City of New Carrollton in New Carrollton, MD is seeking an entry-level Infrastructure & Building Maintenance Laborer to support public works. You will perform maintenance, repair, and light construction to keep streets, sidewalks, buildings, parks, and public facilities safe and functional.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of maintenance/public works experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and send emails; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and preventive maintenance, repair, construction, and improvement of city infrastructure.
• Operates hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and maintenance equipment.
• Performs asphalt, concrete, drainage, and related maintenance and repair activities.
• Assists with installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of infrastructure and site improvements.
• Performs building maintenance including painting, carpentry, drywall, minor plumbing.
• Maintenance of grounds and trails, vegetation removal, debris cleanup, and safety compliance.
• Responds to service requests and emergencies; participates in winter operations as needed.
• Maintains records and documents work and coordinates with supervision.
