The City of New Carrollton is looking for an energetic and dependable Grounds Maintenance Worker to help keep our parks, public spaces, and City grounds looking their best. This is an opportunity to work outdoors, stay active, operate equipment, maintain beautiful community spaces, and make a visible difference in the City every day.
Operates and maintains landscaping and groundskeeping equipment, mows and trims grass, maintains trees, shrubs, and flower beds, removes litter and debris, and assists with seasonal maintenance and special projects. The position may also perform general labor and other duties as assigned to support the City's Public Works operations.
All candidates considered for the position will be required to successfully pass a background investigation.

Work assignments are performed primarily outdoors, where the employee may be exposed to unusual elements, such as moving equipment, exposure to traffic, extreme hot or cold temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, debris, smoke, fumes, and loud noises.
