Job summary

Cape Fear Community College in the North Campus (Rocky Point) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator Instructor to deliver theory, simulations, and field training. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of proven heavy equipment operation experience (bulldozer, excavator, dump truck).
• 1 year of supervisory or training experience.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment safety protocols and regulations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in heavy equipment operation (classroom theory, hands-on, outdoor lab).
• Ensure safety, regulations, and best practices are followed.
• Foster an engaging learning environment for diverse learners.
• Adapt teaching methods to student needs and pacing.
• Adhere to NCCER curriculum.
• Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records.
• Build industry relationships and participate in relevant events.
