Job summary

Cape Fear Community College seeks a qualified instructor to provide classroom and lab instruction in the Mechatronics Program, aligning with regional workforce needs and program goals. The role emphasizes hands-on training, assessment, and collaboration with college departments to support student success.

The instructor will plan and deliver instruction, develop assessments, and coordinate curriculum updates while maintaining accurate attendance and performance records.

Qualifications

• AAS in Mechatronics or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in Mechatronics or a closely related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Systems Technology or Electrical/Electronic Technology, or closely related field, from a regionally accredited college or university.
• At least seven (7) years of professional industrial experience in Mechatronics, Industrial Systems Technology, Electrical/Electronic Technology or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality current and relevant instruction for workforce preparation in the Mechatronics Program.
• Plan, direct, and participate in instruction for the Mechatronics Program; develop supplemental materials and tests; maintain records of student attendance and performance.
• Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the Mechatronics Program; curriculum development and instructional coordination.
