Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Engineer II to help design, test, and validate next-generation server platforms powering our CDN and Cloud Compute offerings.

You will work on performance, power, and reliability testing and collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve issues. The role requires hands-on hardware bring-up, 5 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field, and strong Linux scripting skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• Understanding of computer architecture and server hardware components.
• Experience with Linux environments and scripting (Bash or Python).
• Hands-on experience with embedded systems and debugging with lab tools.
• Experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, PCIe, NVMe, DDR and GPU architectures.
• Strong problem solving, documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Test next-generation server hardware platforms for performance, power and reliability.
• Document results, identify defects and recommend improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues with internal and external teams.
• Develop, maintain and enhance test scripts to validate hardware features.
• Keep up to date with computing, networking, storage and hardware acceleration tech standards.
