Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Hardware Engineer II to help define and validate next-generation server hardware for its CDN and Cloud Compute platforms.

You will work with OEM/ODM partners to ensure performance, power, and reliability across designs. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, 5 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of computer architecture, Linux scripting (Bash/Python), embedded systems, and high-speed interfaces (Ethernet, PCIe, NVMe, DDR).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture and server hardware components.

Responsibilities

• Test next-generation server hardware platforms for performance, power and reliability.
• Document results, identify defects and propose improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues with internal/external teams in engineering and manufacturing.
• Develop, maintain and enhance test scripts for hardware features.
• Stay current with computing, networking, storage and hardware acceleration standards.
