Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Engineer II to help define and validate next‑generation server platforms used in Akamai's CDN and Cloud Compute offerings.

You will test hardware components, quantify performance, and drive reliability in collaboration with internal teams. The role requires hands-on hardware bring-up, deep knowledge of server architectures, and scripting in Linux environments.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Understanding of computer architecture and server hardware components.
• Experience with Linux environments and scripting (Bash or Python).
• Hands-on debugging with lab tools and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, PCIe, NVMe, DDR and GPU architectures.

Responsibilities

• Test next-generation server hardware platforms and components for performance, power and reliability.
• Document results, report findings, identify defects and recommend improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Develop and maintain test scripts to validate hardware features.
• Stay up to date with evolving computing, networking, storage and hardware standards.
