Job summary

The Voyager Inn in Downtown Anchorage, Alaska, seeks a hands-on General Manager to lead our 40-room boutique hotel. You will be highly visible, working closely with associates and guests, and owning the hotel's overall performance.

With a smaller property, you'll recruit, train, coach, and develop the team, monitor guest feedback, and drive operational excellence while managing costs and opportunities for revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel leadership experience required.
• Strong understanding of Front Office and Housekeeping operations.
• Experience with select-service, boutique, or smaller hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day hotel operations to ensure guest satisfaction and profitability.
• Lead and develop Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other teams.
• Recruit, train, coach, and manage hotel associates.
• Foster a guest-focused, accountable work environment.
• Monitor guest feedback and address concerns promptly.
• Ensure rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and quality standards.
• Manage labor, expenses, procurement, and operating costs.
• Review financial and operational reports and take action to improve performance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and revenue opportunities.
• Monitor occupancy, rates, and overall property performance.
• Build relationships with local businesses and community partners.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety/regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with corporate leadership to achieve property goals.
