Job summary

Residence Inn Anchorage Midtown in Anchorage, Alaska seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager to lead day-to-day hotel operations and develop high-performing teams. You will partner with the General Manager to drive guest satisfaction, brand compliance, and financial performance across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.

You will coach staff, monitor service scores, and ensure operational readiness while maintaining Marriott standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hotel operations or management experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Marriott experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach associates and hold teams accountable.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager with day-to-day hotel operations.
• Provide hands-on leadership to Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance and other departments.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop associates to build a positive team environment.
• Monitor guest feedback and service scores; take action to improve guest experience.
• Ensure Marriott brand standards and JL Hospitality Management policies are followed.
• Conduct property inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety and readiness.
• Support labor management, scheduling, purchasing, inventory and expenses.
• Review performance reports and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service and profitability.
• Collaborate with Sales and other departments to support occupancy and revenue.
• Serve as manager on duty and lead during emergencies or operational challenges.
