Job summary

Residence Inn Anchorage Midtown in Anchorage, Alaska is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to lead the hotel's day-to-day operations alongside the General Manager. This hands-on role focuses on Guest experiences, team development, and maintaining Marriott brand standards.

You will oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments, coach staff, monitor performance, and support occupancy, revenue, and profitability goals while upholding JL Hospitality Management

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hotel operations or management experience.
• Leadership experience in Front Office, Housekeeping, or multi-department hotel operations.
• Marriott experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Marriott systems and brand standards is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach associates and build relationships.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager with the overall day-to-day operation of the hotel.
• Provide hands-on leadership and support to Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other operational departments.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop associates while building a positive and accountable team environment.
• Monitor guest feedback and service scores and take action to improve the overall guest experience.
• Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and JL Hospitality Management policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular property inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, appearance, and operational readiness.
• Respond to guest concerns and operational challenges quickly and professionally.
• Assist with labor management, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, expense control, and other financial objectives.
• Review hotel performance and operational reports and assist in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service, and profitability.
• Partner with Sales and other departments to support occupancy, revenue, and overall hotel performance.
• Serve as a manager on duty and provide leadership during emergencies or unexpected operational situations.
• Support the General Manager with additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
