Job summary

College of Southern Nevada (CSN) seeks experienced flooring installation instructors to teach part-time in the Flooring Installation Technician program. The role covers hands‑on and classroom instruction across 75‑hour modules, with options to deliver individual modules or the full 300‑hour sequence.

Instructors will evaluate student performance, prepare materials, and ensure safety and quality in a simulated lab environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in flooring installation, construction trades, or related field.
Demonstrated expertise in Carpet, Resilient, Hardwood, or Tile installation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively teach adult learners from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Deliver instruction in one or more flooring installation modules.
Prepare and present course materials, demonstrations and hands‑on training activities.
Evaluate student performance through practical assessments and classroom assignments.
Maintain attendance, student records and assessment documentation.
Ensure safety standards and proper use of tools and equipment.
Foster a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment.
Provide industry insights and best practices that support workforce readiness.
Collaborate with DWED staff to support student success and program objectives.
Assist in maintaining a clean, organized and safe instructional laboratory environment.
