Job summary

The City of Grandview is seeking a dependable Facility Maintenance Worker to keep City buildings, grounds, and equipment safe, functional, and well maintained. You will perform a blend of building maintenance, grounds care, custodial tasks, and HVAC preventive maintenance as part of a hands-on team.

Work involves varied days and weather conditions, physical activity, and occasional direction to seasonal staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid state driver license and reliable transportation are required.
• Must be able to pass a background check and physical.
• Hands-on role requiring physical stamina and manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on City buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Monitor facility systems and ensure proper operation.
• Conduct preventive HVAC maintenance including filters and belts.
• Inspect facilities for maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Mow grass, trim shrubs/trees, and maintain designated grounds.
• Handle custodial duties and general facility upkeep.
• Set up tables, benches, and equipment for meetings/events.
• Operate and maintain tools; order custodial supplies as needed.
