Job summary

Bok Tower Gardens, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs to keep facilities reliable and enhance visitor experience.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, minor repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and assisting with event setups, while maintaining safety standards and working with Facilities Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of facility maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools; general maintenance skills preferred.
• Experience in painting, carpentry, electrical, mechanical or plumbing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Carry out daily/weekly preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct daily/weekly pressure washing.
• Set up and take down events as directed by Facilities Supervisor.
• Perform general building maintenance such as plumbing, electric, HVAC.
• Monitor and maintain building systems; report issues to supervisor.
• Uphold safety standards per company and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure work activities comply with policies and procedures.
• Follow Employee Handbook guidelines; participate in special projects.
• Cross-train with Custodian role; assist as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

To perform preventative maintenance and tasks to keep the facilities operating for reliability and Visitor Experience. This position will maintain a high-quality level of the visitor experience thru maintenance of all visitors and back of house areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Perform daily maintenance inspections and repairs
• Perform Daily/ Weekly Preventative Maintenance tasks
• Perform Daily/Weekly pressure washing.
• Perform event set-ups and take-downs as directed by the Facilities Supervisor
• Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services;such as plumbing, electric, HVAC.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned;
• Responsible for alerting the Facilities Supervisor of any unusual occurrence or damage that may have taken place or that may occur;
• Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines;as well as OHSA.
• Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner;
• Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook;
• Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined;
• Cross train with the Custodian position.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED; plus two (2) years’ experience in facility maintenance work or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools required
• Experience in general maintenance or trades including painting, carpentry, electrical, mechanical or plumbing systems preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Maintain a professional and courteous manner with all staff, volunteers, and visitors
• Occasional varied weekly schedule to assist with events and programs
• Some exposure to chemicals used for cleaning and parts maintenance
• Frequent carrying and lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Able to work outside in summer and winter climates
• Occasional reaching, stooping, bending and repetitive arm motions
