Job summary

Orbis Machinery, LLC is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead a small engineering team while remaining actively involved in design work. You will mentor engineers, manage workload, and collaborate with fabrication and manufacturing to bring projects from concept through production.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, solid CAD skills (SolidWorks or Inventor), and hands-on experience with mechanical systems and rotating equipment in a fast-growing OEM environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience designing industrial machinery, rotating equipment, or OEM systems.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small engineering team while remaining an active working member.
• Prioritize work based on project requirements, production needs, and deadlines.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Design and support custom industrial equipment using 3D CAD software.
• Perform engineering calculations related to horsepower, torque, shaft loading, and bearings.
• Design and support rotating equipment and power transmission systems.
• Review 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs for accuracy.
• Support new designs, modifications, rebuilds, and reverse-engineering projects.
• Collaborate with Fabrication, Machining, and Assembly to resolve design issues.
