Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking a hands-on Desktop Engineer to support hardware, desktop, and network connectivity in a high-availability operations environment. You will build, image, configure, and deploy equipment; troubleshoot Windows and basic Linux; perform rack, cabling, and site‑level fault isolation; and assist with change management and improvements.

Ideal candidate has 1+ year IT support or data center experience, familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus, and holds or is pursuing

Qualifications

1+ year hands-on IT support, field services, infrastructure, or data center experience.
Experience with hardware deployment and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Windows OS and basic Linux command-line usage.
Understanding of networking fundamentals, cabling, and connectivity troubleshooting.
ServiceNow experience is a plus.
CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Build, image, configure, and deploy hardware and devices.
Troubleshoot desktops, peripherals, connectivity, and network issues.
Perform rack‑and‑stack activities, fiber cabling, and structured cabling work.
Handle Layer 1/Layer 2 troubleshooting and device‑level fault isolation.
Work tickets, perform routine maintenance, and support change management activities.
Escalate issues when required and follow documented procedures.
Support site technology operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
