Job summary

Elliman Capital | Associated Mortgage Bankers is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations across multiple entities. This hands-on leadership role combines process improvement with day‑to‑day accounting functions, including GL, AP, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP expertise, and mortgage banking familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field required.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager desired.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Mortgage banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, payroll, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Lead full-cycle AP process: invoice approvals, vendor payments, coding, and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor cash flow.
• Lead month-end and year-end closes; improve procedures and internal controls.
• Coordinate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and treasury management; support audits and tax work.
