Job summary

Elliman Capital, the lending arm of Douglas Elliman, seeks a Controller in Miami to build and oversee accounting operations across Elliman Capital and Associated Mortgage Bankers, Inc. The role reports to executive leadership and offers hybrid work with a path to lead the accounting department as the platform scales.

Qualifications

• Mortgage banking or mortgage lending accounting experience.
• Experience administering commission or incentive compensation programs.
• Hands-on payroll experience; ADP strongly preferred.
• Multi-state payroll and tax registration experience.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable: invoice approvals, vendor payments, expense coding, and corporate credit card reconciliation.
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead audits, tax coordination, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain internal controls and develop procedures as the platform scales.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury management.
