Job summary

Xplora Search Group is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead the accounting function in a fast-paced South Jersey environment. You will own close processes, financial reporting, and a small team while partnering with senior leadership to drive performance.

You have progressive accounting experience in middle-market settings, strong GAAP knowledge, and a hands-on approach to improve controls, budgeting, and cash management. This role is on-site in Marlton, NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Progressive accounting experience including leadership roles (Controller/Accounting Manager).
• Experience in a middle-market company with hands-on accounting operations.
• Ability to manage and develop a team while staying hands-on.
• Budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and process improvement experience.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience.
• Effective communication with financial and non-financial leaders.
• Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations including monthly close and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements quarterly and annually.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team with hands-on involvement.
• Oversee AP, AR, fixed assets and cash management.
• Partner with executives on budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Analyze results, identify trends and advise on profitability and cash flow.
• Improve processes and internal controls for greater efficiency.
• Support audits, reporting requirements and special projects.
• Collaborate with operations leaders to drive informed financial decisions.
